Airsoft Equipment Buyers Guide
There are three basic groups of popular Airsoft guns: spring, gas and electric powered. Beginners are usually advised to start with less expensive spring powered weapons, but all of the models, regardless of price or power source, require care and practice.
If you start with a less expensive model, you can always visit AirsoftEzone.com to upgrade once your experience and skills increase.
Either way, pick Airsoft guns, accessories, ammo and gear with features that suit your height, size, strength and the battles you plan to get into!
Airsoft Weapons
• Electric Guns: Some of the most popular Airsoft guns are AEG: Automatic Electric Guns. AEGs are great for fast-paced weapons play, and come in all types, from replica pistols to red-dot laser and full automatic rifles.

• Gas-powered guns: Lots of serious marksmen say that gas-powered guns give you a different feel, replicating the operation of a real firearm. Models include non-blowback revolvers, full metal blowback pistols (SIG Sauer, AirSplat, UHC, KJW, etc.)

• Grenades: Grenades and mines add to the realism of simulated combat. These small anti-personnel weapons are designed to be thrown and explode after a short time. Grenade launchers launch a grenade farther, more accurately, and faster than they could be thrown by hand. Launchers come as stand-alone weapons or mounted under the barrel of a rifle.

• Mini guns: If you’re ready to get into Airsoft play, but don’t know where to begin, the answer might be a mini gun. Some can fire more than 100 rounds a minute, and respond like machine guns. Mini guns let you jump right into the action at a minimal cost.

• Pistols: Pistols are designed for every need, from spring-loaded pocket pistols to co2 gas pistols and barrel spring revolvers.

• Rifles: Airsoft rifles vary from grenade electric, spring sniper, AEG, laser, and replica.

• Shotguns: Most shotguns are short-range weapons firing multiple BBs per shot. They let you point the shotgun closer to small, fast-moving targets, instead of aiming a single projectile specifically at a single target. Most commonly spring powered, they fire from 1 to 5 BBs per shot.

• Spring-powered: Spring-powered guns give some of the most powerful bang for the buck because they require human power to cock the spring. Choose from snipers, rifles, .44 magnums, you name it (Soft Air, AirSplat, TSD, etc.).

• Sniper: Sniper rifles are used for precise fire on long-range targets. You pick your position and take aim. Spring, gas, or electric powered, they rely on human power to cock the spring. Electric and gas powered sniper riles come in either semi- or fully automatic models.

• Submachine guns: Airsoft submachine guns come in AEG, spring-loaded, and a variety of models.

Power & Ammo
• Batteries: Which Airsoft batteries you need depends on your weapon’s dimensions, power and model. Some popular brands are NiMH batteries for Mini Airsoft guns, Tenergy NiMH stick battery packs, Intellect Airsoft 3600mah large battery packs, etc.

• BBs: Airsoft BBs are usually 6 mm plastic spheres in a variety of colors (Crosman Copperhead BBs, TSD Tactical black, Fire Power Airsoft Arctic White BBs, etc.). Also available are magazine BB speed loaders, Perfect Grade 0.12g polished BBs, and lots more.

• Chargers: Keep an extra charger available to make sure you stay in the game! Universal chargers are also popular, since they’re more likely compatible when hooked up to a battery of any voltage. Specific chargers for small or large Airsoft plugs range to 12V, and the TSD Universal Smart Charger with adaptor.

• Magazines: Don’t be caught off guard and out of ammunition in the middle of a skirmish. Magazines come in varied ranges so no matter what you’re packing, you’ll always pack heat.
Accessories & Gear
• Gun cases: You’ll open and close your gun cases a lot, so make sure they’re sturdy enough to stand up to use and pressure. Hard plastic lasts longer than flimsy plastic—that’s for sure. Some gun cases are padded with foam and have extra room for tools.

• Holsters: You need to keep your weapon handy, so check out the options for shoulder, sidearm, leg, tactical and other firearm holsters.

• Scopes & mounts: These great additions to your guns range from NcStar tactical laser sights, Leapers master sniper scopes to Crosman mounts and Beretta rails.

• Sights: Get a bead on your targets with quality sights. Choose from rear sights, laser sights, red and green dot sights, tactical front tower sights and more.

• Targets: Target practice keeps your shooting skills sharp; even master marksmen put plenty of time into practice. Sticky Airsoft targets and catcher targets hang on to your BBs to save money while honing your skills.

• Tools: You’ll want green gas, cleaning rods, springs, guides and silicon sprays to keep your equipment sharp.

• Starter packs: Most include magazines with BBs specifically for your favorite gun; some come with protection vests to start you in the right direction.

• Protective gear: Safety eyewear is a basic requirement, but other protective gear is essential to many players. The kind of play you’re into should decide how protected you need to be. Target shooting doesn’t require the precautions that wars and skirmishes do. For war play you’ll want some higher-grade goggles, tactical vest, etc.

• Tactical clothes: Dress for battle in tactical clothes, including vests, carrier plates, pants, khaki shorts, tactical long- and short-sleeved shirts. Tactical leather boots keep you swift and grounded out in the field and in the heat of battle.

Fight the good fight and thanks for stopping by!
